Film review | Paul

Hello lovelies
The film I'm raving today is Paul. This is a film that shows Simon pegg and nick frost playing the two main characters. This isn't included in the cornet trilogy but I feel like it still had some of the elements that goes well the other three films.

Here's what it says about the film online "For the past 60 years, a wisecracking alien named Paul (Seth Rogen) has resided at a top-secret military base in America's UFO heartland. When Paul decides he has had enough of Earth, he escapes from the compound and hops on the first handy vehicle -- a rented RV manned by two British sci-fi nerds named Graeme (Simon Pegg) and Clive (Nick Frost). With federal agents and the father of an accidental kidnap victim on their tail, the two hatch a crazy plan to help Paul return to his spaceship."

Although I like this film, I don't feel like it lived up to the standard of the cornet trilogy. I know it was a complex different genre of films but I feel like it just wasn't for me. I liked the storyline but I felt like it was quite slow to get going and I feel like it was missing something. I think the characters were good but I found myself constantly comparing them to the characters that I know and love Simon pegg and nick frost for.

The best part of the film for me is at the end when you see what happened after the big event. I don't want to spoil it for you, that's why I've called it the big event. I don't know why but for me I'm so used to seeing nick and Simon in films that have more action or a horror aspect to them. Whether it was the writing or something else, it just fell short for me. It wasn't bad but I definitely wouldn't watch it again just because its not really my type of film. I just don't find alien films funny or entertaining. I know you'll all be like "well you like doctor who" and yes that's a valid point. I feel like aliens and comedy just don't go that well together, and it this film I don't think it worked that well.

Have you seen Paul? What did you think of it?

Lots of love,
Chloe xxx
