Chocolate button cookies

Hello,
since I have two days off I decided that I wanted to bake something today, now I know I normally just find anything in the cupboard and hope it all goes together well but today I actually used all the right ingredients. I will admit I did make my mum go down to the shops and get the ingredients so if you have someone to go and get the ingredients I would strongly advise that but if your not lazy like me then just pop to the shops.

For this recipe I went on allrecipes.co.uk and found a recipe which I sort of follow but I added another ingredient, so if you want to follow the recipe exactly feel free to head over the the website and look for the cookies, I'll leave the link for the Chewy cookie recipe just here as well.

So for my adapted recipe you will need;

250g plain flour.
1/2 teaspoon bicarbonate of soda.
170g unsalted butter.
1/2 teaspoon salt.
200g light or dark muscovado sugar.
100g caster sugar.
1 tablespoon vanilla extract.
1 egg.
1 egg yolk.
325g of chocolate buttons.
50g cocoa powder (My added extra.).

Now I'm just going to quickly say that I added the egg yolk but forgot the egg, and mine still taste pretty good so if you actually read the recipe and don't rush like I did then you will have much better cookies.

Step 1;
So start of my gathering all of your ingredients and weight them out.

Step 2;
Sift together your flour, bicarbonate soda, salt and coca powder.

Step 3;
Melt the butter and mix it together with the egg, egg yolk, caster sugar and muscovado sugar.

Step 4;
Add your chocolate buttons to the mixture and fold them into the mixture with a spoon.

Step 5;
Place small tablespoon sizes of the mixture onto a greased baking tray and bake for about 15-17 minutes in an electric oven and about 12-14 minutes in a fan oven on 170 C.

Step 6;
Get your cookies out of the oven and resist the urge to eat them while there hot, let them cool down on a cooling rack and then tuck in and enjoy.

Hope you liked this post.
Let me know in the comments what you think and if you make them then let me know how it goes.

Bye for now xxx
